Ron Browning on Gospel-centricity

Ron serves NewHeart Expressions (NHE), as senior editor and blogger, for Priority One Press and Find True.

Priority One Press is NHE's eNews feed and quarterly eNewsletter, with one purpose at its helm -the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Find True is NHE's Blog, speaking the Gospel into many lives, on God and sexuality.  One word captivates the essence of Priority One Press (POP) and our Find True blog:

Gospel-centricity!

Gospel-centricity is being centered and focused on the Message of the Cross.  It is about finding Life in and through Jesus' death, burial, resurrection, and enthronement.  This Gospel doesn’t stop with what Jesus did for us.  That is just the beginning: the Gospel's sovereign grace reaching into the depths of our lives.  But there is so much more! The overflowing banks of the Gospel is our union with Him.  We share His death, burial, resurrection, and enthronement.  It is in our union with Jesus, where we find true identity; and we are empowered to live out our true selves and God’s ultimate purpose for our lives.

Personalize this truth with me:

Christ died for me, to pay my sin debt; and because of the repentance that leads to a Life of saving faith, His Father gave me (Acts 11:18), I died to sin with Jesus, when He died for me (Romans 6:6). Likewise, Jesus died and was buried, canceling the power of sin (Colossians 2:13-14) that it shouldn’t have any control over me (Romans 6:6-7). Now, I can learn to live forgiven (Romans 8:1) and forgiving; because God has forgiven me in Christ (Ephesians 4:32).

On the third day, Jesus rose in Life; and I was raised with Him to newness of Life (Romans 6:4), with a NewHeart of right desires applied to my spirit (Ezekiel 36:26-27).  God has raised me up to live from Jesus’ Life.

Jesus ascended back into Heaven and was enthroned at Father’s right.  I too have been raised and seated with Him (Ephesians 2:6) right beside Father, to live in and from Him –Jesus (John 15:1-11, specifically v 4-), as He lives in and through me (Colossians 1:27).

As I receive Jesus, by confessing Him as my risen Lord; I know that He is my forgiven Lamb of God and my all-sufficient Life.  I now surrender, by faith, to His Life living in and through me; empowering me to overcome the sin that haunts and expresses the hope of my NewHeart.

There is true identity in Jesus' death, burial, Life, and enthronement as we choose to live from Him, who lives in us.

'I have been crucified with Christ.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
And the Life I now live in the flesh (body)
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me'
(Galatians 2:20, ESV).

This is Gospel-centric living!  NewHeart Living!  Eternal and Abundant Life!  This is True Identity!
